IDNR Educational Trunks
UPDATE: Two new trunks are now available, the Illinois' State Symbols trunk and the Illinois Prairies trunk.

Educational trunks are available to loan to schools and organizations for free over periods of one - two weeks. Please contact the Vehe Farm Foundation at info@vehefarmfoundation.org or call 847-331-0967 to reserve the trunks. The trunks are suitable for grades kindergarten and up. The following trunks are available:

Invasive Plants in the Midwest
Early detection and eradication of invasive plants can help prevent an invasion. Two organization offer excellent resources to assist area residents in identifying invasive plants.
The Midwest Invasive Plant Network has two flyers available. New Invasive Plants and New Aquatic Invasive Plants. Learn more from their website at www.mipn.org.
The CAPS program is a combined Federal and State effort to collect and manage data on plant pests, weeds, and biological control agents. They have a variety of reference material available on their website including the following:
- Exotic, Invasive Plants in Illinois Habitats...
- Woodland: Forests, Timbers, Thickets, Groves, Windbreaks...
- Aquatic Areas: Wetlands, Lakes, Streams, Rivers, Marshes...
- Grasslands: Prairies, Roadsides, Fence lines, Right-of-ways...
