During the whole month of April, St. Colette's School in Rolling Meadows celebrated both Earth and Arbor days. Three of the IDNR trunks, Illinois Trees, Illinois Birds, and Illinois Mammals were used for special nature related educational activities. In addition, the first annual nature photo contest was held for all students at St. Colette's. Categories including trees/nature, landscapes, and animals. Many wonderful photos were taken by the students and two Vehe Farm Foundation members had a very difficult time helping to choose the winners. Check back the week of May 4th to view the winners in each of the categories. Among the donated prizes are three Vehe Farm Foundation tee-shirts for the first place winners in each category.
