Eagle Scout Project Preserves A Piece of Deer Park History
The Vehe Farm was recently the beneficiary of an Eagle Scout project. Brian Toczyski, Boy Scout and Deer Park resident, moved historic stone pillars from the Quay Family Farm to the Village Hall on the Vehe Farm property. The stone pillars were located at the entrance to the Quay Family Farm and were built with
stones the family found on the property in the 1920's. The pillars marked the entrance to the farm and were located near where the entrance to the Town Center Promenade can now be found.
Brian moved the pillars to their new home on the walking path behind the Village Hall in December 2007. Pepper Construction donated the heavy equipment needed to move the pillars. Thanks to Brian's project a piece of Deer Park history has been preserved for all to enjoy.
